EXCEL acts in the capacity of the “Trusted Partner” to the country to assure its every success with all aspects of new nuclear build.

Oklo

Oklo is an advanced nuclear technology company focused on developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale. In addition to power generation, the company is building a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes and advancing nuclear fuel recycling capabilities. Oklo has achieved several industry firsts, including receiving a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy and submitting a custom combined license application for an advanced reactor.

The company’s flagship design is a small, simple, and inherently safe fast reactor, typically around 75 MWe in size, using liquid metal sodium as a coolant and operating at atmospheric pressure. It can be fueled by HALEU or recycled nuclear fuel and is designed for long-term operation with a commercial license exceeding 40 years. The system emphasizes off-site fabrication and rapid deployment, with timelines targeted at under 18 months, enabling scalable and efficient deployment across a range of applications.

Oklo is preparing to deploy its Aurora powerhouse at Idaho National Laboratory under DOE authorization, with plans to transition to a commercial operating license through the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The Aurora is expected to be the first commercial sodium-cooled fast reactor licensed to operate in the United States. Overall, Oklo’s approach is centered on delivering reliable, always-on, low-carbon power while improving cost, speed, and flexibility compared to traditional nuclear technologies.
